Communication Skills for the Creative Media Industries - Research

For our TV show our decision right away was for it to have a comedy genre to it as these are usually always very popular TV shows regularly watched by audiences. So I researched into some comedy TV shows that were successful in there show, one of the most popular ones that was the 5th most watched TV show in 2015-2016 was the big bang theory a very well-known TV show that is shown on channel 4, it has around 20 million viewers world-wide and makes around $1 million per episode.

I went to the libary to get some secondary data on my TV show idea this helped for me to come up with my idea. From the information gathered we will be using broadcasting it on all TV sets possible this means Freeview, Sky and Virgin this maximises out viewers. In the media book it talks about convergence, I think that we could but our show on some computer networks for example netflix.
The primary networks in the US that we could broadcast are ABC, CBS, NBC these are the biggest in the US and have the biggest audience, any of these would be a great choice for our show.
We need to make sure that we are trusted by the companies as networks do not normally take chances on unproven talent so we would have to show examples of our shows or go with a smaller network first. As in the book the main way to hook new audiences is with good advertising so posters, website videos/banners and TV trailers will all be helpful for our TV show.
By looking at the information here it says that "cable television gains a wider access" as this is true it would benefit us if we put our show on cable TV.

We did our powerpoint on google docs so that we could work all at once.
