PROTOTYPE VERSION (NOT PROOF READ):
8 out of 10 cats is a comedic late night TV show that hosts Jimmy Carr as the presenter of the show, this show is a quiz type TV show where 2 famous celebrities will be split between two panels with a two of the recurring comedians each week (Sean Lock and Jon Richardson), in this show the contestants have to fill the top 5 most talked about things that have been in the news recently the idea is they will talk about one of the recent events and make fun of the event and try to get comedy laughs out of it, 8 out of 10 cats is partially scripted to get the comedians and celebrities to talk about certain events some of the jokes are also scripted however quite a few of them are improvised by the comeians themselves the main idea of the program is for comedy purposes not the quiz side as on the standard show of "8 out of 10 cats" you can not join in with guessing any answers with the contestants due to how the quiz show works this may show problems to people who want to watch a quiz show directly for the quiz part as they wont be able to join in however this TV show has a little trick up its sleeve as quite often the show will do "8 out of 10 cats does countdown" this show keeps all the same cast however it changes the quiz game instead of the news type quiz game it uses everything from countdown a well known quiz show this allows people to join in on the quiz also they star extra celebrities for this show in particular and this version of the show is mostly preferred to the original show. On average most shows gather a an amount of 2.5 million viewers. 8 out of 10 cats is the 6th most viewe on the channel "4seven" it is more popular than shows like "Ramsay's Hotel Hell" and "Location, Location, Location" which is generally impressive however shows like "Grand designs" and "Humans" and in a week it gets 107,000 viewers in 6th place. Although our TV show has different tones as it is not a quiz show however it is a comedy and is similar in joke aspects it also has a partial script however our TV show is very unichue in it's idea there is not a TV very similar so a successful comedy show is the closest we could get to.

"An Idiot Abroad" is probably the most similar to my TV show idea as they both are documentary's and both are meant to be funny for the audience, an idiot abroad stars Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant (these two are also the programs creators) and also Karl Pilkinton the main cast in the program, in this TV show Karl is sent abroad to achieve lots of challenges/targets for him to complete for example: bungee jumping in Australia, the reason the show can be so funny is most of the time Karl does things against his own will and his reaction can be priceless also Karl isn't the most inteligent person around so he gets confused easily and his reaction and explanation the things can be very entertaining and often hilarious. In 2012 idiot abroad was the most viewed in December on program Sky 1 than any other program on the TV chanel with a view rating of 2,260,000 views a week, this was a huge success and the program would need it as well as the budget for the program is likely quiet excessive due to it being taken in multiple locations (abroad and home in the studio).
In our TV show we aim at a very wide frame of audience this gives us a capability of getting more viewers for our TV show as it is mainly aimed at 18-60 which is a very big age range giving us potentially more viewers making the show more popular, the show will not include much rude language at all this again allows a bit of a wider range of audience, the shows comedic aspects will help watchers not get bored of watching our show as they might not like the idea which is giving people money to spend on what they want but they might enjoy the comedy that the show presents this is what the other TV shows did as well. What we could do to help get our program attention is to place adverts for it on social media sites such as Facebook and YouTube and then put adverts on TV as well and a good idea would be to make the advertisements for the social media include more comedy moments from the program as the younger audience is likely to be more interested in that side and also the younger audience is more likely to see it on social media rather than the TV when the TV advertisement could show more of the shows plot rather than the comedy as this might appeal more to our older audience.
When creating our TV show we will most likely have at least of couple of presenters this is where our main comedy is going to come from the presenters are our comic relief in the program similar to in "An Idiot Abroad" we will not need any particular "actors" as the show is entirely based around the presenters however we will need 2-3 people random from the globe with contrasting backgrounds to make the show work as the idea is they all receive a equal sum of money and then get left to spend it on what they think is the best and most interesting thing to spend it on. To produce this we would need the basics such as cameras and lighting and a set to film what the presenters think pf the purhcases that happen, howver there is never anything really important that we need to produce this just a budget to give the chosen memebers the presenters a set and a camera.

due to how the quiz show works this may show problems to people who want to
watch a quiz show directly for the quiz part as they won’t be able to join in
